In 2009 my sister-in-law, Hilary, bought a t-shirt for our nephew, Evan, at the M&M store in Las Vegas. He was almost 4 years old. He is now almost 15 years old and that shirt has made its way through him, his little sister Madison, his cousin Ezra, and now it’s in Nell’s dresser waiting to fit her.
This set of cousins don’t all live in the same state. They don’t see each other all the time. But they share something so special. It mights just be a t-shirt, but I love that they have this thing that they’ll be able to talk about as they get older.
When Nell is big enough for the shirt to fit we’ll take photos and then we’ll send it back up to Oregon for Theo, the newest cousin addition. One day it will get sent back to us for our next baby. Because, yes, we are planning on one day having at least one more.
And the M&M shirt will live on…
