Square One

Square One

On Monday, June 8 both Bryan and I went back to work. We weren’t expecting it to happen like that, but it did. So, now our days look much different than before. We all have our own schedules and trying to keep up with everything is not as easy as I thought it might be.

I’m back to working 7:30-4:30 Monday – Friday. Bryan works different hours on any day that he’s at work. And Nell’s schedule is so crazy that’s it’s hard for me to keep up with. On Monday she’s with my Aunt Cari. On Tuesday and Wednesday she’s at work with me. On Thursday she’s with Bryan – he has every Thursday off. And on Friday she’s with my mom. The girl is all over the place. Here are some photos from her first day of school.

I had such a difficult Monday. I cried when I left my aunt’s house. I cried again when I walked into work. There was so much love and understanding surrounding me that I cried even more. I cried again on Tuesday when I left her in her classroom. And it felt so stupid because when she’s there I can go see her whenever I want. And her teachers are so amazing!

We made it through the week and with nothing more than a few shed tears and some very sore muscles. I didn’t realize how much time I spent on my feet until I was off for 5 months. We also came out with some super cute smiles. Her teachers are so wonderful at sending me photos throughout the day. I couldn’t have asked for a better environment for her. Discovery Depot is making be a working mommy so easy.

A few other things have happened recently. We also got to visit with Bryan’s side of our family. And we got to go out and DINE-IN at a restaurant!

I called this post square one because it feels like we’re starting from the beginning all over again. We’re learning a new routine and new schedules. It’s very different from being at home and only needing to learn her habits and needs. But we’re doing it. And we’re killing it.

We celebrated Nell reaching 5 months (actual) / 2 months (adjusted).

A few updates for Miss Nell:

  • she weighs just over 10 pounds
  • she kicks her feet nonstop
  • she smiles ALL THE TIME
  • she LOVES Moana

We are so blessed to have such an amazing little girl. *Nsync said it best: God must have spent a little more time on you, Nellie-Anne.
