Today I met another NICU mom. Her baby boy was in the bed next to Nell. I remembered them from Fontana. Our babies were NICU neighbors. She had her sweet boy at 33 weeks gestation. And today he got to go home! His name is True Love.
Parents aren’t always in the NICU at the same time. So, it’s not easy to meet everyone. But I’m glad I met her. She was so sweet to us. She encouraged us to keep going. She told us that she just knows that Nell is going to do amazing things in this world. And she said she would continue to pray for us.
I’m already holding back tears when she hands me a book called Small but Mighty. It’s about the journey a mom goes on when her baby is born early and has to stay in the NICU for any amount of time. She said she read it to her baby and that I should read it to Nell.
And before she left she signed the inside cover.

I love the idea of encouraging the parents around us. And this may be something I do for another parent when it’s time for us to go home.
