“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
- Jeremiah 29:11-13
This morning, I watched Pastor Matt’s message online at SandalsChurchTV. His message was called “Motivated: To Live for God by Following His Word”. A few of his points really hit home for me during this time.
- Following God isn’t always easy.
- It has not been easy to fully trust God. Ever. I tend to think that I can trust Him with some of the things, but not all of the things. And even though I know He can handle everything, I don’t always lay everything at His feet. But this time it’s different. For the first time, I have had the easiest time laying our sweet Nellie-Anne at His feet. And every single day He has answered our prayers.
- Trust God’s word over your strategic plans.
- My strategic plans? HAHA. There is nothing strategic about my plans for my life. That’s why it says His plans are perfect. He has had these plans in place since before we ever existed.
God planned out Nellie-Anne’s life before she was born. He knew what we would be going through before we even decided to start a family. So, how can I sit here and act like I know better than He does? I don’t. I can’t.
If there is one thing I hope that I and Bryan and everyone else takes from what’s happening it’s that He is so real. That none of this would be possible without Him. And it’s all because so many of us have put our trust and faith in Him and that He will put a healing hand on our sweet girl. His plan for her is perfect. So, we’ll trust Him with her whole life.
And because of His perfect plan, our girl is getting stronger every day. With each day comes more progress and new privileges. One of those privileges is that grandparents get to hold her! My mom was up first. And it was such a special time for all of us.
